The showing is closed down but despite the detective’s warnings, Maggie is back to her second job of amateur sleuthing and solving mysteries. She's headed out for some not-so-legal snooping with her best friend, Lisa, and the down-to-earth, Duran...a memorable investigative team that works hard to find the identity of the killer while tripping over their own collective feet.

Artistic License Maggie Kean Misadventures Book 2 edition by Nageeba Davis Romance eBooks Reviews
Interesting story but would have liked more action. Not so much exploration of the main character's mundane thoughts would have been nice. Liked the way the romance part of the story was presented, very thought provoking and not gross.
Maggie was having her first showing of art work. People were everywhere looking and admiring her work. An art patron wanted to see more of her work so Maggie took him to the back room where she discovered a dead body and the mystery begins.
As Maggie puts her hands in the clay and water she makes a living with, this sculptress also gets a hand full of mystery and adventure, with fun supporting characters and a believeable plot. This was a fast and fun read with a quirky Maggie leading the way.
Its really not about art at all. She just happens to be an artist.
Its more about relationships and a very observant amatuer learning to work with a pro, and him learning to trust her back.
in time they should be a very good team.
Entertaining, fun story. I enjoyed Maggie's irrepressible curiosity that seemed to be forever getting her in trouble. A very enjoyable story. I would read more of the Maggie Kean stories.
This was another cozy mystery, again piquing main character Maggie's insatiable curiosity! At times, her "emotional" issues left me wondering why Sam would put up with her deception and anger, however, the author seems to be allowing Maggie to learn from her mistakes and grow (at least to some degree). I enjoy the banter between Maggie and her brother, her friends, and pretty much anyone she comes across! I will continue this series, and look forward to seeing where she goes from here!
Maggie Kean is finally getting her art show. Schmoozing the patrons is not her strength, so when one of the oddest members of the crowd asks to see if she has something edgier to show him, Maggie sees it as a way to duck the responsibility. She regrets her cowardice as soon as she looks in the kiln where there's a dead body — crispy and blackened from the heat.
She doesn't want to investigate, that's Sam's job and he keeps pushing her away so she'll be safe. The problem is that she needs to know and Sam is holding all the clues very close to his chest. It leaves her only one option, start investigating on her own.
I recommend this to anyone who likes a cozy mystery with a dash of humor and a dollop of romance. I reviewed book 1, Artful Dodger, if you are want to start at the beginning of the series.
