I'll preface this by saying it wasn't the worst thing I've ever read, but it wasn't very good either.

Most of my problem with this was the writing, some of my problem was the story itself, and some of it was how it ended.

The Writing: While the writing wasn't so riddled by mistakes that it was holey, it had numerous ones that could have easily been remedied by a decent editir (or even a mediocre one probably). The language and structure of the writing was middling at best, and while it never sunk to the level of bad fan fiction, it never reached the level of good fan fiction either. I felt like this was written by a high school student who hadn't gotten to the finer points of finesse and how to craft interesting writing. There wasn't enough development making the lack of passion grating and even silly, there was too much telling without showing, and as a result it was difficult to become attached to the characters.

The Story: So this is about werewolves, obviously. But what sort of werewolf society allows for their kid wolves to go around killing each other? How can you have "potential" mates? That basically discounts any concept of loving someone for who they are AND it means a weird instalove thing that is beyond annoying. And she doesn't even know the damn boy!!! Ugh, no. Also, why would she even consider joining a pack that's planning on killing her, with her best friend and brother apparently just aokay with the whole thing? Like, really? Is anyone here likeable? No, me thinks not. And is it just me or does Sam snap at her "mate" a lot and without much care about him?

The Ending: No spoilers, but this was a pretty big cliffhanger. You didn't get anything resolved. You're left with a pretty dramatic moment. And you don't really know why or what is fully happening. Sure, meant to reel in readers, but it didn't work for me. It was just irritating.

So the verdict: I wouldn't recommend this book. The author needs way more experience and probably some writing classes before I'd consider another of her books.

Howl Howl Series Book 1 eBook Jody Morse Jayme Morse Reviews

I reviewed this on my Blog as well [...]

This is a first book from these authors for me,it is the first book in a series. The storyline is enjoyable..nothing better then reading about werewolves..right?The story had its good parts and bad parts. The good,I enjoyed the characters bantering, getting a feel for Samara's home and school life.I was drawn into the book..it kept me reading so thats always a plus.
The Bad.There is a part in the book when Samara is Bitten by a Wolf its a game changer,However she is bitten and its like oops paper cut.Not I was just attacked by a wolf lets get some emergency help..no she was just bitten not a big deal at all. The way the Characters acted after that was rather unbelievable..I had to read it twice to make sure I read it correctly. This may just be something nit picky on my part but having to read Samara feels this way,Samara went there,Samara decided to do this was flat out annoying.I would have rather read She chose to do this,She wanted that etc.It got so repetitive..I wanted to shout that I knew the main characters name already.I also found it really odd that Samara's parents were referred to as Mr.McKinley and Mrs.McKinley.Again it may be nit picky on my part but im so used to reading,"Her mom said, or Samara's Dad said etc. Not Mr.McKinley said.I feel like some basic editing needed to be worked on.
That being said if you can overlook certain aspects of the book then its a very very enjoyable start to the series. At .99 on the kindle its not to bad.Ive started the 2nd book and am enjoying it so far.Its a new twist on a Cute werewolf series.Give it a chance Read it and I hope you enjoy it.
It was a good start to this series. The book was written well. It kept my interest throughout the book. You could tell the characters are going through the normal high school drama. They also have the additional drama and issues of being werewolves.

I did enjoy the characters. Samara is very family orientated and loyal. She's also a typical high school female with learning who she is and dealing with her love life. She seemed to take being bitten by a werewolf harshly at first, but she got used to it. I could tell she was frustrated with her Alpha not letting her know who he is.

Luke seemed like a decent guy. Even though he liked Samara, he tried to give her space knowing that her decision she had to make could affect them both. He didn't want to complicate her decision any further than it already was.

The members of each pack had different and strong characteristics. You could tell how well each packs' members blended with their own pack. Many of their personalities were similar or had similar views.
Samara and Emma are best friends, but they couldn't be more different. Emma decides to throw a party and that is where Samara meets Luke, her cute crush. On their first date a wolf attacks Samara and her life changes forever, literally (In this book werewolves live thousands of years). After everything she has went through already, Samara has to make a decision that will impact her life forever. Since her grandfather was the most powerful and feared werewolf in all of history every pack in the area wanted her to join their pack. What pack will she choose?

I am very into the supernatural stuff, mostly vampires and werewolves. This book was very romantic, but also very sad. The cliff-hanger was very sad, but suspenseful. I liked how the werewolves were balanced. There are many stories about werewolves and Jody Morse incorporated the most common one, a humans body transforming into the four-legged wolf, and some of her own interesting ideas for the packs abilities. The only thing I disliked was this is supposed to be for teens and YAs, but it has cussing not for the reading of teens.
